My first ever trip to…..

CORK!

That’s right! Cork. Before the start of this month, I had never been to Cork. I’m really ashamed to say that.

So…..I took a trip down to visit a friend who has a house down there and had such an amazing time with a house full of locals who showed me the best of what West Cork had to offer!

We visited Crookhaven, Barley Cove Beach, Mizen Head and Three Castles Head.

Mizen Head had been on my Bucket List for quite some time. Of course, I’m always happy to tick something off the list and it did not disappoint. €6 entry for an adult and the scenery is breathtaking.

Barley Cove Beach is stunning and any trip to West Cork should involve a stop at this magnificent beach.

Crookhaven is where we stopped to eat and I can highly recommend The Crookhaven Inn for a superb dinner. I wouldn’t complain about the wine either.

For lunch, drop into O’Sullivans for a toastie or an open crab/salmon sandwich and you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

I absolutely LOVE visiting new places.

I’m already planning another trip down to West Cork to see plenty of other places I didn’t get to visit!

I’m posting some photos below – feel free to comment or if you have any questions on any of the locations, just ask!

P.S. There was no filter applied to the scenery pictures. What you see is EXACTLY how it was. The colours are amazing, aren’t they!?

P.P.S. The pictures with me in them are 100% filtered!

Get yourselves to West Cork! You won’t be disappointed!

No. 100

I bought this IMAGINE book, pictured above, in Ardmore in April of this year and it contains my Bucket List.

I decided to start re-writing my Bucket List when I turned 32. I originally kept the list on my phone but I kept losing it or deleting it. When it was on my phone I never really updated it either so it was rather pointless…… Now, however, I bring my IMAGINE book with me pretty much everywhere and update it every time I read or hear about something I want to do or I want to see.

Some ideas are very expensive and I may never get to do them but…… Then again, I just might! Other ideas are easily done and I’ve been ticking them off one by one!

I also need to start listing all the things I’ve been lucky enough to do already and tick them as done…….I’ll get to that at some stage!

Some of my Bucket List items are pictured above. Apologies for my writing – it’s beyond awful!

I currently have 99 items on my Bucket List….. So I’m here asking you for ideas for No. 100! I want to make it something special!

So any ideas??

I have a confession to make…..

So, I did it. I completed my ’21-day no chocolate challenge’. But, of course, I told you that already.

Actually, I went an entire 30 days without chocolate. I was very impressed with myself to be honest.

Then……work broke me and I gave into temptation and had some chocolate. I ended up with a blinding headache afterwards though so I won’t be craving chocolate again any time soon…..

But…….That’s not my confession.

It seems that my brain and willpower failed me when it came to eating any other crappy food throughout the 30 days….

I was off chocolate and I was doing SOOOOOO well on that front, so I started telling myself that I could add a few calories here and there…….sure the weight will still fall off me because I’m off chocolate!

WRONG AISLING.

Sure have a pizza Aisling – it’s not chocolate, it’s grand.

And sure I’ll order a takeaway tonight – it’ll save me having to cook when I get home.

A little ice-cream?? …. As long as there’s no chocolate on it…..Yep, I can have it.

We’ll have another glass of prosecco – make it a bottle, it’s less expensive.

And that slice of cheesecake.… There’s no chocolate on it and it’s Saturday….. so go on. It’s ‘cheat’ night!

Ah yea. Eejit

It is AMAZING the things you can justify when you feel the need!!

So….. I’m back on it. A 30 day challenge

No chocolate – only dark chocolate on a Sunday if I want something.

14,000 steps a day (tracked on a jawbone).

5 different 30 day challenges on an app I bought for €2.99 from the App Store:

  • The 30 day jumping jack challenge
  • The 30 day butt challenge
  • The 30 day hips challenge
  • The 30 day little black dress challenge
  • The 30 day wall sit challenge

2-3 litres of water a day.

Protein with every meal.

And…. Try to sleep better. ALWAYS A TOUGH TASK.

……. That’s pretty much it.

Day 1 was Sunday, 7 June and so far so good.

The good weather Ireland is currently experiencing is helping and tonight on the way home from work, (instead of thinking about what I was going to have for my dinner), I planned a little outing for myself.

I came home, got changed into my gear and headed for Killiney Hill. A place I’ve never been to before and a stunning place to visit when the sun is shining!

And of course…..it satisfies my New Year’s resolution for June and it’s another tick off my Bucket List!

By the way, I would like to take this opportunity to apologise to anyone reading this who doesn’t give a flying continental about what I’m doing fitness wise or how much weight I lose or what I’m eating. I won’t be blogging about it every day. I promise. I probably won’t blog about it again after this post but….. If I don’t put it up here, I won’t do it. It’s that simple. I’ll feel guilty if I don’t do this now. So THANK YOU if you have taken the time to read this post without disregarding it.

Right now, I’m off to bed before I eat something I don’t need!

Night!

Live. Laugh. Love.

I managed to fit in an extra little item to tick off the Bucket List for May this morning by driving to Brittas Bay for a walk along the beach.

I also found the time to get a little bit creative  with my favourite quote!

Enjoy your Saturday wherever you may be!

No Better Way to Start World MS Day

WHAT A MORNING!!!!!!

I ticked another item off the bucket list this morning when I went for an early morning dance at the MS Ireland Silent Disco for World MS Day.

It was SO MUCH FUN!

Irish Rugby stars Jenny Murphy and Ailis Egan.

I arrived down at Dublin’s Grand Canal Dock around 7:45am and grabbed some headphones. I was on my own so I was a little apprehensive but once I heard the music and saw how much fun people were having I was GRAND.

I reluctantly handed back my headphones and left at 9:00am to go to work.

This was probably the best way to start the day. I’m bouncing around the office!

PLEEEEEEEEASE support MS Ireland today, here are the details you need:

Thank you to MS Ireland for organising this.

Have a fantastic day.

World MS Day 2015

Wednesday, 27 May 2015 is World MS Day.

This is one of the highlights of MS Ireland’s year when the whole world comes together to celebrate and empower people living with MS. The theme for this year is….

Together we’re Stronger Than MS.

There are plenty of events happening this week to mark World MS Day. One of which is a Silent Disco which I’m very excited about…. I’ve never been to one, it’s on my Bucket List and it’s for charity! So why not!!??
Details are as follows:

I have no idea what’s involved in this but I am going along for the craic if anyone wants to join me!!

As I said, there are many events going on this week in support of World MS Day but everyone has busy lives and things to do, so if you can’t make an event and you still want to do something to support this cause, then please Text STRONG to 50300 and donate €4* to MS Ireland.

* 100% of your donation goes to Multiple Sclerosis Ireland across most network operators. Some operators apply VAT which means that a minimum of €3.25 will go to Multiple Sclerosis Ireland.

I very much appreciate it!

Have a fantastic Monday.
